Impendulo

Server and web app for Impendulo system.

Documentation

Currently the only language supported by Impendulo is Java.

The Java Impendulo toolchain currently consists of the following:

• PMD
• Checkstyle
• FindBugs
• Java Pathfinder
• JUnit 4
• Java Compiler

The only editor currently supported is Eclipse. You can install its plugin from http://cs.sun.ac.za/~pjordaan/intlola/.

Installation

Install and setup go:

~$ wget http://go.googlecode.com/files/go1.1.2.linux-amd64.tar.gz
~$ sudo tar -C /usr/local -xzf go1.1.2.linux-amd64.tar.gz
~$ export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin
~$ mkdir $HOME/go
~$ GOPATH=$HOME/go
~$ export PATH=$PATH:$GOPATH/bin

You should add the export commands to something like /etc/profile or $HOME/.profile so that you don't have to repeatedly set them.

Download and install impendulo:

go get github.com/godfried/impendulo

Then you need to install the tools you want to use: First create an Impendulo tools directory. For this example we create it in our home directory:

~/somewhere$ cd ~
~$ mkdir impendulo-tools
~$ cd impendulo-tools

Now we download and install the tools we want:

• PMD

Next you need to setup the configuration file $GOPATH/src/github.com/godfried/impendulo/config/config.json to point to the correct locations. It should therefore look something like:
